Rachael Hammond
AmeriCare Midlands Owner

Rachael has more than 20 years of experience in the medical field and brings her passion for excellence in patient care to the in-home care discipline.  As a registered vascular sonographer in Virginia, Florida, and now, for the past 12 years, in Lexington, South Carolina, she has seen the need for loving caregivers first hand.  This witness of need and passion for clients is the driving force behind Rachael.

She understands that each one of us is unique; we have varied backgrounds, different needs, and specific wants.  Rachael brings that philosophy to caregiving.  She believes that getting to know each client and their families allows us to provide personalized care; care that will provide dignity and respect for the client and peace of mind for their loved ones.

Rachael has seen the need first-hand for in-home care.  Rachael served as a caregiver for her mother after surgeries and illnesses while still working and caring for her own family.  She came to understand the physical and emotional stress of caregiving while continuing her usual activities and realizes that it is essential for family caregivers to have time to care for themselves as well as their loved ones. Rachael has also seen the benefits of having a loved one who had a compassionate, trustworthy caregiver who wasn’t a family member.

Rachael enjoys spending time with her husband of 20 years, Carl, and their two school-age children.  They are members of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church.  She is an avid runner and enjoys adventures on the lake, traveling, and spending time with family.  While originally from Richmond, Virginia, Rachael has made the Midlands of South Carolina her home and loves it here.

Carl Hammond
AmeriCare Midlands Owner

Carl grew up in the Midlands of South Carolina and came back to the area with his family in 2008 to pursue a management position at a manufacturing facility. A graduate of the class of 2000 from Virginia Military Institute, Carl served his country as an officer in the United States Army. He went on to receive an MBA from the University of South Carolina in 2011. Carl enjoys reading, running and spending time on Lake Murray. His passions are his faith and family. He serves as a deacon at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church in Lexington. He believes in building strong relationships within the community to provide the best in home care for residents throughout the Midlands.

Carl has seen the demands faced as families serve as caregivers to meet the daily needs of family members who are coping with chronic illnesses, dementia and post surgical care.  Through his own experiences, he has identified the need for quality care givers to provide excellent home care to assist in the wellness of an individual as well as recovery. He strives to make a difference in the Midlands community by giving families peace-of-mind while keeping their loved ones safe at home.
